He was the executive chef of La Cubana and a star of \"Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives\" and \"Guy\'s Grocery Games.\"  La Cubana, in New York\'s Meatpacking District will establish The Carl Ruiz Scholarship Foundation in his honor.
