'-BEST WAY TO COOK PAKSIW NA PATA Prep time: 10 minutes Cook time: 1 hour and 20 minutes Total time: 1 hour and 30 minutes Servings: 3-4 people Ingredients: 1 kilo pork pata (sliced) 10-12 pieces banana blossoms 4 cloves garlic 1 medium onion 1 teaspoon peppercorn 3 bay leaves 2 cups water 1/2 cup soy sauce 1/2 cup vinegar 4 tablespoons brown sugar cooking oil Salt and pepper to taste Instructions: In a pan, sauté onion ang garlic. Once cooked, add in pork pata pieces and pan fry until light brown on both sides. This time add in the ingredient starting with soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, banana blossoms, peppercorn then bay leaves. Simmer for 5 minutes, uncovered without mixing. After 5 minutes, stir until everything is combined. Let boil, cover and simmer for 45 minutes or until meat is tender. Remove cover and season with salt and pepper according to taste. Let simmer for another 10 minutes or until sauce is reduced. Serve while hot with rice!
