'While in Singapore we got to spend lunch at one of the most famous Hawker Food Markets in all of Singapore, Maxwell Hawker Centre. Unfortunately the most famous Chicken Rice stall (Tian Tian) was closed that day but we found some delicious food. Below is a list of the foods we tried while at the market: Carrot Cake - not a dessert and not made from carrot, chai tow kway is made of rice flour and white radish (sometimes called white carrot) The mixture is steamed, then cut into cubes and fried with garlic, eggs and preserved radish called \'chai poh’. This dish has its origins in Southern China. Hainanese Chicken Rice -Originates from Hainan Island in Southern China, this dish is made either of a whole chicken or pieces of chicken, it is served with rice and child sauce. Nasi Goreng - Originates from Indonesia, a rice dish typically spiced with kecap manis (sweet soy sauce), shallot, garlic, ground shrimp paste, tamarind and chilli qnd accompanied by other ingredients, particularly egg, chicken and prawns. We had the vegetarian version. Roti Prata- Originates from Southern India- this is a type of flatbread made by frying stretched dough flavoured with ghee (Indian clarified butter), it is usually served with curry. Ice Kacang (Ais Kacang)- This dessert originates from Malaysia, and translates to “Bean Ice”, typically the dish contains attap chee (palm seed), red beans, sweet corn, grass jelly, roasted peanuts and cubes of agar agar. ------------------ SUBSCRIBE! - http://bit.ly/1M4etCO ------------------ Singapore: Singapore is a thriving cosmopolitan city with a history deeply rooted in trade and commerce. Although a long favourite destination for the more affluent of travellers, the Lion City’s roar is beginning to be heard by the masses. An abundance of world-class, affordable attractions are springing up on a regular basis, whilst the vast variety of restaurants and nightlife options cater for everybody, from budget backpackers to high rolling billionaires! This tiny island-state is also remarkably culturally diverse. Where else could you marvel at the charms of yesteryear in the historic Chinatown, then tuck into a delicious curry in Little India, before ending the night atop of the iconic Marina Bay Sands sipping a cocktail? Singapore is waiting for you to visit it! Maxwell Road Hawker Centre Maxwell Road Hawker Centre is one of the best places to try genuine Singaporean dishes that are cheap, original and extremely tasty. The former Kim Hua Market may have left its fishmonger and butcher days behind, but since 1986, this old market has found its true calling. The place feels is alive with locals and tourists all bustling about trying to get their fill of classic Singaporean street food which start from around S$3.Maxwell Food Centre makes no pretensions to atmosphere or high class: instead, it lets the collective reputation of its best-selling tenants do the talking The Maxwell Food Centre takes on all comers - taxi drivers, students, office workers, and tourists. It doesn\'t have the tourist-trap reputation of Lau Pa Sat Festival Marketor Newton Food Centre, despite its location in the hottest of tourist hotspots. Some of its stalls have gone on to lasting fame, with glowing endorsements from celebrities like Anthony Bourdain and the Michelin Guide. ---------- ► SUBSCRIBE! - http://bit.ly/1M4etCO ---------- ► FOLLOW US ○ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/delightfult... ○ Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/deltravellers ○ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/delightfultr... ○ Newsletter: https://bit.ly/2QgKRbK ○ Website: https://www.delightfultravellers.com ---------- ► SUPPORT US All and any support we receive helps us to travel more and upgrade our camera gear- meaning it helps us to create more and better quality content! ○ PayPal (Tip Jar): https://paypal.me/delightfultravellers ○ Sign up for AirBnB (Save up to $40 ): https://bit.ly/2L7unjD ○ Book hotels through Booking.com: https://booki.ng/2VBaKaa ---------- ► OUR GEAR ○ Store: https://amzn.to/2ArrQ1l ○ Camera: https://amzn.to/2L11lnv ○ Tripod: https://amzn.to/2Uo7fDc ○ Drone: https://amzn.to/2E8y6NT ○ Go Pro: https://amzn.to/2UwauJ4 ○ Hard Drive: https://amzn.to/2VpVQU7 ○ SD Card: https://amzn.to/2CMk2Zp ○ Charger: https://amzn.to/2s7ese6 ---------- ► ABOUT US A little bit of luxury, a little bit of budget, a whole lot of travel!
